Carl and Anita really helped my partner and me today at lunch in refining our ideas about how to prototype our design. They even showed us a similar first-stage prototype that was very helpful in solidifying our concept of the prototype we want to build. In addition, it was really helpful to be able to bounce ideas off of them and get a perspective from current students in the discipline.
The Papin lab tour was really interesting, especially learning about the exponentially increasing complexity resulting from adding just one additional factor into a system or network. The cross-disciplinary aspects of the research there, which included some software usage and mathematical modeling, exemplified the efforts made in BME to use all resources available to find solutions to a problem.
