Bio-Med Tech-Girls is a collaboration with the UVa Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), St. Anne's-Belfield School and Charlottesville Women in Tech. The experience provides an opportunity for high school students to get a hands-on, behind-the-scenes peek at biomedical research happening right now at UVA.
I found a video that I thought looked interesting. It has a little girl who was born with a hand but without fingers. She now has a 3D printed hand that she is about to control but contracting muscles. The hand helps her with day-to-day life and the video also mentions that it will hopefully help her build confidence.
